Model of the statue of Sir James Ramsden in Ramsden Square, Barrow by the artist M Noble. Inscribed on the plinth below the model is the following text: Presented to Lady Ramsden, by the subscribers to the statue executed from the design and erected at Barrow-in-Furness in honor of Sir James Ramsden 1872. James Ramsden was honoured with a statue in the town, which was unveiled on the 21st May 1872, complete with elaborate ceremony and a day’s holiday: the following month he received his knighthood.
